I participated in what I've always, to some degree, thought of as shameless parenting on Saturday night. I took the girls to one of those video game, bad pizza, drop quarters like they are going out of style, win a prize for a rate of return of about . 05 cents on the dollar, kind of monetary sucking place. I had fun.
The best part about one of those places is finding the photobooth for a much better return on money. $2 bucks and you too may have proof you entered the money depleting zone. $2 bucks and you buy a whole lotta of smiles and truly bad personal photos!
As I steadily handed out quarters and feed the change machine green backs, I glanced around at the euphoria of little kids plunging their parents hard earned money into game machines in their quest for tickets. I decided there must be some sort of secret conspiracy going on between casino owners and kiddy palace owners. These kids are all in mini-training for the big stuff when they turn 21.
The lights, the games, the sounds, the screams of jackpot delight. It's all a legal Las Vegas, kiddo style. All right, I know sometimes I look to far into things, but hey, I have to call it like I see it.
It was a last minute desperation decision to do something moderately different that didn't require being at the homestead where laundry, housecleaning, and dishes would have prevailed.
A journal entry can be found in even the most money depleting moments...............
Ok, I give, I tried to resize that pic 5 times, but it has decided it will be without a doubt huge...........Winner, Picture with a large margin, loser, Rebecca, by a pixel

Looks like you all had a great time together! Thanks for sharing the photos.

I can totally relate to the kiddie casino. Nothing like taking the kids to a Chuckie Cheese kinda place. After about 100 bucks worth of tickets, you think they`re gonna have to go to the back for more merchandise, by the time you get through picking your bounty. Then you get to the counter and end up with a whistle and some stickers! LOL Of course you can`t put a price on the smile on a kids face at one of those places, which is obvious, when I see the smile on your litte girl`s face. What a great picture ! Three very pretty ladies indeed.
I used to love to take my kids to these sorts of places...... my son would win me stuffed animals. judi
Oh how fun!!! You all look so cute!! rose
I am as guilty as you are about squandering money on paid forms of entertainment for my children. I justify it by saying I am not paying for those little trinkets; I am making memories that my children will remember for the rest of their lives! The pics are lovely! Everyone looks happy and I know the memories created that day were all worth it! Hugs to everyone!
Awesome pics! You all look so happy and carefree! Looks like just the perfect dose of what an overworked, over-stressed, loving and devoted Mom needed! Glad to see you all looking so happy, considering recent j-page entries! Keep smiling!

"Training for the big time", what a novel idea. I think your right on target though, there certainly are some similarities between the video manic of our youngsters and the slot mania of us oldsters. Sounds like you all had a good time, sans laundry, which is great. Paulette
Just did the same thing today with my boys, minus the proof by photo. I always loved those photo machines, something about the novelty of it. Glad to see you having fun and letting go, if only for a night.

You have a very good looking family. I'll bet you are very proud of them.
It looks like fun was had by all <smile>... Love the pics and the size seems just right for this entry... well, IMHO, of course <LOL>

I never really liked those places but my boys used to love them, so of course we would go. Then they grew up a bit and they could go on their own. And then last year, my son asked me to accompany him so he could demonstrate his prowess on "Dance Dance Revolution," a kind of Simon Says with your feet, accompanied by very fast ear-splitting music. His feet flashed in sync with arrows on the screen and soon a crown gathered to watch him. I have never been prouder to be in that place - what a gift he gave me. So yes, I understand, Rebecca.
You guys look so happy - keep making the memories.
